SHOULDER TO SHOULDER TESTIMONIES

            “For you have died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” (Col. 3:3).  To put it simply, the Lord has used Shoulder to Shoulder to help me learn that I am invisible, and that through the death of self, the radiance and glory of Christ is able to permeate and overflow in the life that lives out the reality of being hidden in Him.  I used to have a constant losing battle against fits or depression, but through the truths that the Lord taught me in discipleship, I learned how to conquer the self (Gal. 2:20; 1 Cor 9:24-27; 2 Cor. 10:4-6).  As I learned how to see my life as no longer my own, along with seeing myself as hidden away in the one who was anointed with the oil of gladness above all of his companions (Heb. 1:9), I began to realize that I no longer had the right to self pity, and that I must fix my eyes upon Jesus.  As I did this, the reality of the living Christ, through the power of His life giving Spirit (Rm. 8:11) enable me to master myself, thus disappearing, making me invisible, and allowing the glory of God to be manifested in my mortal flesh. The temptation is still there, and Satan still launches his fiery arrows, but the armor that I now wear has been strengthened, thus enabling me, by the grace of God, to submit to God, resist the devil, and make him flee (Jm. 4:7).  To sum it up, I have learned to make Jesus Christ my standard in everything, so that in whatever I do, it will all be done for the glory of God (1 Cor. 10:31; Col. 3:17).  Indeed, He is able to do exceedingly and abundantly more than we could ever ask or imagine according to his power that works in us (Eph. 3:20).  Praise be to God, to the omnipotent One who reigns in truth and power!  May His name be blessed forever and ever!  To the One who will place all things under His feet! May He be given all the glory, might, power, dominion, and honor forever and ever by his elect people and all the host of heaven! For “Jesus sought me when a stranger, wondering from the fold of God.  He to rescue me from danger, bought me by His precious blood !!!”

There comes a time in your life when you've got to move on.  A point where God says it's time to get serious, get off the fence and start living for My Glory.  A lot of times you need some help getting started and Shoulder to Shoulder was that kick start for me.  This discipleship has changed my walk with God, my family and my ministry.  Through Shoulder to Shoulder I have been loved, I have been taught and often most importantly I have been body slammed.  Everybody needs somebody to hold them at a state of accountability that is sometimes painful.  I've been on the mountain top and I've been in the valley, but most importantly I've experience growth on the journey between the two.
